Not only do they taste amazing but they are jammed packed with benefits for you and your body. Here’s a look at what just a few of these fall super-stars have for you:

Cranberries have also been shown to be antioxidant powerhouses, even surpassing broccoli. It’s easy to buy fresh cranberries now and throw them in the freezer (right in their original bag) to eat all season long. Cranberry juice is well known for treating and preventing urinary infections by flushing out the e.coli bacteria that causes them.

Sweet potatoes baked and eaten without any added sweeteners, like marshmallows and brown sugar, help satisfy your craving for sweets. They are low in calories, a great source of fiber (1g per ounce), loaded with Vitamin A as beta-carotene, Vitamin C and other nutrients that make sweet potatoes a smart, delicious choice! Whenever you are using your oven, bake a few and keep them in the refrigerator to eat whenever you get hungry!

Walnuts are a great source of heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. These good fats are essential because your body does not produce them. A 1/4 c serving will give you over 90% of the daily allowance!

They are great on their own or mix them with dried fruit for an easy high energy snack. Store them and other nuts in the freezer to keep them from turning rancid.
