Hi, I’m Vicki Heise and I bet you’re wondering if I’m the right Intuitive Living Coach for You. I want to share with you some things about myself to help you decide!

Weight has been an issue for me since my early twenties. My first summer away from home I gained 30 pounds. That’s when I started my weight loss journey that has lasted decades.

I’d lose 10, 20, 30 pounds time and time again until several times it was 50 pounds! I would be absolutely perfect while dieting but then shortly after I was done, I’d go back to my old ways of eating lots of sugar, fat and flour. I got an A+ as a yo-yo dieter.

I got to the point where I only ate chocolate all day for days at a time. It was the only thing that made me feel better.

I finally realized that I had no control over food and if I didn’t get help soon my body was going to give up on me.

I reached out and ended up being diagnosed with not only a binge eating disorder but also Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Having these labels attached to me on top of how I was already feeling about myself did little to make me feel better, however I was able to make some changes.

The bingeing stopped and I had some tools to deal with the anxiety so things got better, but there still was a missing piece.

Then I found something called HSP, a Highly Sensitive Person that was totally me.

When I heard the description I knew right away that this wasn’t another label, it was how some of us interact with the world. About 20-30% of people and even some animals are more aware of, and can absorb, the energy that is everywhere around them. Because we are highly sensitive, absorbing all this energy can be overwhelming and we will often reach for food for relief.

Learning about this helped me become aware that it wasn’t because I didn’t have willpower that I was having trouble controlling my weight. I just didn’t have the skills to deal with all these feelings without using food to help me cope and feel better.

Here’s an interview with me that explains why I’m a Holistic Health Coach and how the Live Your Healthy Life Keys came about:

Q: Why did you become a Intuitive Living Coach?
In late 2005 after 35 years of yo-yo dieting, I was anxious, bingeing on chocolate just to get through each day, grossly overweight, and if I’m honest – obese. I would wake up each morning and wonder, have I abused myself beyond repair? Is this the day my body gives up on me? Why was I doing this to myself?

I was literally scared to death, and had to admit to myself that I was committing suicide with food.

I asked for help, was diagnosed with eating and anxiety disorders and realized I was a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). I was adamant about not using drugs, trusting my body would know what was best for me. I found the tools that worked, the personal solution that was right for me.

As I got better I just knew I wasn’t the only one struggling with weight and body image, foods cravings, mood swings, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, and missing out on things because of total exhaustion.

I made a commitment to dedicate myself to helping other women love themselves enough to be able to live the healthy life of their dreams.

Q: So how did you become certified?
I studied nutrition in school and then on my own for years interested in why what worked for one person might hurt another. I was always researching the latest health findings. It was important to me to find training that also believed that health and well being meant something different to each individual. And that each person should be treated as a whole.

I received my training at and am certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in partnership with Teachers College Columbia University in New York City, and certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I have also certified as a Master Weight Release Energetix™ Certifed Intuitive Coach® from the Master Intuitive Coach Institute and use their trademarked In-Vizion™ Process in the Breaking Through to the Real You™ programs and also the Live Your Healthy Life™ programs. The process has helped clients have amazing results in a much shorter time.

My training has included Eastern and Western nutrition, over 100 dietary theories, contemporary health studies, health counseling and guest teachers that have pioneered new ideas in personal growth and nutrition including Andrew Weil MD, Deepak Chopra MD, Neal Barnard MD, Mehmet Oz MD, Barry Sears PhD and others.

Q: How are you different from a nutritionist or dietician?
Unlike nutritionists and dieticians that use the FDA pyramid, I use many dietary theories to help my clients. I also include all aspects of their lives as they are working through their personalized program. This allows for life long changes to be more easily maintained because the client is treated as a whole person and deals with the many factors affecting their health.

Q: Why did you create The Keys Every Women Needs To Unlock Her Healthier, Happier Life™ program?
For women to get the best results and benefits! It is important to provide them with all the tools they need to accomplish their goals. I realized that there were specific steps that when followed, provided amazing results.
